Telengtan Brothers and Sons, Inc., doing business under the name La Suerte Cigar and Cigarette Factory, is one of the pioneers of cigarette manufacturing in the Philippines. The Company was formally established by the Telengtan Brothers - Chung Te, Ching Leng, and Ching Tan, and began operations on Dolores Street, Pasay City.

In its early years, La Suerte specialized in producing several native-style cigarette brands. , later strategically expanded its portfolio to include American-style cigarettes using high-quality Virginia and Burley tobaccos sourced from the world’s most reputable tobacco origins, including the United States.
A significant milestone in the company's history occurred in 1955, when Philip Morris International (PMI) entered into an exclusive licensing agreement with La Suerte. This partnership marked PMI's first licensing agreement outside the United States and introduced iconic brands such as Marlboro and Philip
Morris into the Philippine market. For nearly 50 years, La Suerte manufactured these globally recognized products at its local facilities, serving the domestic market.

In 2002, the Company concluded its 47-year partnership with Philip Morris, ushering a new strategic chapter for the Company, focused on developing and producing its own brands for both the domestic
and export markets.
